Tottenham v Swansea preview: Spurs look to bounce back from cup defeat

Pochettino's men endured a tough week in cup competition
Tottenham will be hoping to put a miserable week behind them when they host Swansea on Wednesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino's crashed out of the Europa League against Fiorentina last Thursday before losing to Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final three days later.
Spurs haven't won since their derby victory over Arsenal at the beginning of February and attention turns to league matters as they look to secure European football for next season.
Swansea, meanwhile, are on a high after two wins in succession over Manchester United and Burnley pushed them up to eighth in the table, hot on the heels of their opponents.
The Swans' best-ever Premier League points haul of 47 is now on Garry Monk's radar and victory at White Hart Lane would see them four short of that mark with 10 games still to go.
Team news
Pochettino may look to freshen up his team after the Wembley heartbreak.
Moussa Dembele, Erik Lamela, Federico Fazio, Benjamin Stambouli and Ben Davies are all pushing for starts.
Gylfi Sigurdsson should feature against his former club
Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has recovered from hamstring trouble and is in line to start against his former club.
Kyle Naughton also returns to White Hart Lane for the first time since his January move to Swansea but loan signing Tom Carroll is unable to play against his parent club and drops out of Garry Monk's matchday squad.
Opta facts
Spurs have won all three Barclays Premier League home games against Swansea, keeping a clean sheet in the last two.
Swansea have lost their last six against Tottenham in the PL and are winless in seven (D1 L6).
Harry Kane after Capital One Cup final defeat by Chelsea
Harry Kane has scored 12 goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances.
No team has won more Premier League games from losing positions than Tottenham this season (5) in 2014-15.
No team has lost more top flight games from winning positions than Swansea City (4) this season.
Swansea City have failed to score a first-half goal in their last five Premier League matches on the road.
Merson’s prediction
I see Spurs bouncing back here after their defeat against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday. They started off well at Wembley, but I think if they were still playing now they wouldn’t have scored! It just wasn’t their day, especially with two deflected goals.
This is a huge game for Spurs - they must get going again straight away if they want to finish in the top four. But this isn’t a slight on Swansea. Garry Monk has done really well for a young Premier League manager and, if I’m honest, I didn’t expect him to.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0
